I have been training with Alan Brennan for the last two and a half years and can honestly say It’s one of the best decisions I have made in years! I had been a member of the gym for a few months before even thinking about a personal trainer. Initially, I used the same treadmill or cross trainer for 45 minutes, 3 or 4 times a week and had progressed to some spinning classes which I enjoyed, felt fitter but was seeing no results on the scales and also felt the weights areas a bit intimidating as I really hadn’t a clue where to start.
I signed up with Alan for 2 reasons, I had heard of the excellent weight loss results his clients were achieving and I just couldn’t face the humiliation of returning to a slimming club for the umpteenth time. I have been overweight for years, tried everything, had some short lived successes along the way, but always put the weight back on. I was constantly tired and a really bad sleeper.
To begin with, I committed myself to 6 weeks, training twice a week. By the end of the 6 weeks, I felt like a new women and had lost over a stone! Alan’s approach is clear and realistic, taking one workout at a time, pushing me just outside my comfort zone at every session and also tackling my food one meal at a time. He has a deep knowledge of both nutrition and fitness, a common sense approach and the patience of a saint (believe me, I’ve tested them!).
I have continued to train with Alan twice a week, I am now almost 5 Stone lighter, down four sizes in my clothes and have never felt fitter. I am still on the weight loss journey and Alan keeps me motivated by constantly changing my workouts and setting small term goals every few weeks.
Thanks to Alan, I now feel in control of my food, I sleep like a baby, can buy clothes in normal shops and get a buzz out of lifting weights! Whatever your fitness goals may be I couldn’t recommend Alan Brennan enough.
